About PROTHISEBHA SOCIAL & HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION
Prothisebha Social & Healthcare Foundation is a registered non-profit organization based in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, dedicated to empowering underserved communities through quality education, healthcare, nutrition, and livelihood initiatives. Founded with the belief that sustainable change begins at the grassroots, we focus on transforming lives with compassion, transparency, and lasting impact.
Our programs are centered around holistic child development, women empowerment, rural upliftment, and accessible healthcare. From organizing mobile clinics and community health camps to supporting underprivileged children with school enrollment and digital learning modules, we are actively involved in building healthier, more self-reliant communities.

Driven by Purpose, Backed by Action
Our programs span across child education, maternal and child health, nutrition services, vocational training, and eco-sustainable livelihood initiatives. From setting up community learning centers and mobile healthcare clinics to conducting nutritional drives and skill development workshops, every initiative we undertake is designed to uplift the most vulnerable and give them the tools they need to thrive.
One of our strongest pillars is community participation. We do not believe in one-way aid. Instead, we work with local leaders, volunteers, parents, schools, and health professionals to co-create solutions tailored to local needs. This participatory approach not only builds trust but ensures that our interventions are culturally appropriate and sustainable.
Our Leadership and Team
Behind every impact story is a team of committed individuals led by passionate visionaries. Our Board of Directors, operational team, and volunteers come from diverse backgrounds but share one mission—to serve with integrity and empathy.
Led by our Directors Mr. Indrajit Jana and Mr. Babusona Das, and guided by CEO Dr. Akash Sarkar, the Foundation’s leadership brings a blend of medical expertise, public service dedication, and grassroots development experience. Our team also includes HR managers, program coordinators, community outreach specialists, and research analysts—all working as one force for good.
Each team member is not just a professional but an advocate of change. Whether organizing a mobile health camp in a remote village or leading a youth mentorship program, our people are on the ground, listening, adapting, and acting where it matters most.
Impact at the Grassroots Level
Over the years, Prothisebha has seen tangible results in the lives we’ve touched. Hundreds of children have gained consistent access to learning. Parents have been equipped with income-generating skills. Families have benefited from timely medical checkups, mental health support, and nutritional supplements.
Our multi-pronged approach has led to reduced school dropout rates, better child and maternal health indicators, and stronger economic stability in the areas we serve. These outcomes are not just statistics—they represent hope, dignity, and renewed confidence among people who were once on the fringes of society.
Building Transparent, Scalable Systems
Transparency is one of the core principles of Prothisebha. From project execution to financial management, we maintain accountability at every level. Our organization is registered with relevant authorities and adheres to all legal, financial, and reporting standards required for nonprofit entities in India.
We are also certified with the ISO Certificate Number: E20250422325. Our legal identifiers include:

We believe that strong documentation, data-driven practices, and continuous impact evaluation are key to building replicable and scalable models. That’s why we invest in research and analysis that informs our programs and enables us to scale smartly into other regions that require urgent attention.
Partnerships That Make a Difference
Collaboration is integral to our work. Prothisebha works closely with government bodies, educational institutions, healthcare providers, CSR contributors, and like-minded NGOs. These partnerships help us leverage resources, amplify our reach, and create synergies that multiply our impact.
We also engage actively with corporate donors under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and individual philanthropists who believe in our cause. Each donation—big or small—makes a difference in delivering aid to someone in need.
Additionally, our volunteering program is open to professionals, college students, and local citizens who want to contribute their time and skills. Their involvement not only helps us scale our efforts but brings new energy and innovation to our service model.
Our Growth Journey
What began as a humble grassroots initiative has now grown into a movement. Our ongoing work in North 24 Parganas is only the beginning. With the right support, we aim to replicate our model in neighboring districts and states.
In the coming years, we plan to:
Expand our learning centers across more remote villages
Launch digital literacy modules for rural children
Partner with more health institutions for regular clinics and mobile healthcare
Diversify skill-building programs for women and youth
Develop long-term donor and volunteer partnerships to sustain and grow our impact
We understand that lasting change doesn’t come overnight—it comes from consistent, focused, and inclusive action. That’s what we’re committed to, every single day.
